His parents were James Benjamin Staker, Sr., and Elizabeth Christina Fescher Staker. He grew up in Annabella, Utah, where he received his pre-high school education. Jay married Hulda Josephine Hansen on July 19, 1905 in Manti, Utah. He died on June 21, 1966 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Interment, Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery, Utah.

Born November 25, 1885, in Coalville, Utah to Joseph Heber and Sarah Elizebeth Wilde Stallings. Married Robert James Evans August 21, 1907, Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died September 5, 1967. Graduated from Brigham Young Academy in Nursing and Education [in the Brigham Young High School Class of 1905]. She then attended Cornell University. Served in YWMIA as president and teacher, Relief Society teacher and visiting teacher. Worked as a stenographer and scribe for Pres. John A. Widstoe, at Utah State University. Survived by sons and daughter, Robert John Evans, Ogden; Paul William Evans, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dean W. (Hazel Joy) Criddle, Pleasant Hill, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by three children, Helen, Ray and Joseph. Funeral services were held Friday, January 24, 1992, in Lehi, Utah. Interment, Logan City Cemetery. [Deseret News, Wednesday, January 22, 1992]

Stallings and Mary Farrell Stallings. Mary/Mamie married Albert Carmichael Treseder on June 13, 1910 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary Stallings Treseder died on December 12, 1967. Albert C. Treseder died on December 6, 1970, in Salt Lake City, Utah. ~ ~ ~ ~ 1991 OBITUARY OF A DAUGHTER: Janet Treseder Gibson. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Janet Treseder Gibson, age 78, passed away peacefully March 13, 1991, at her home in Salt Lake City. Janet was born June 2, 1912, in Ogden Utah, the daughter of Albert C. Treseder and Mary Christine Stallings Treseder. She married Robert Myron Gibson on May 23, 1943 at Salina, Kansas. Member of the LDS Church. Active with PTA and other youth services groups. Member of the Christian Women's Association. Janet was a kind and loving individual who was devoted to her family; she was held in high esteem by all who knew her and her passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives. Survivors include her husband Robert, Salt Lake City; a son and a daughter, Stephen A. (wife Marilyn) Gibson and Gayle (husband James) Senger, both of Sandy; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Marian Treseder Barlow, also Sandy; a special niece, Chris Smith. Preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Treseder. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 16th, at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. [Deseret News, Friday, March 15, 1991.] ~ ~ ~ ~ OBITUARY OF ANOTHER DAUGHTER: Marion Ruth Treseder Barlow. Marion Ruth [Mimi] Treseder Barlow passed away April 25, 1997 of complications due to Alzheimer's Disease. She was born October 2, 1920 to Albert C. Treseder and Mary Christine Stallings Treseder. Graduated Carbon High School 1936. Attended Weber State College. Married to Ivan Bucholtz, later divorced. Married Fay Hamilton, deceased. Married Albert V. (Benny) Barlow, deceased. Worked for the Ogden Standard Examiner, Hiller Book Bindings, and Atlas Copco. She worked many years for Salt Lake Desk and for the Salt Lake Community Action Program in the Weatherization Department. Member of Group II, and the Hillcrest Group, of Alcoholics Anonymous for 41 years. Throughout her life, she was known as a very kind person, who went out of her way to help others. She touched the lives of many people. She loved her grandkids, Tab, and the color purple. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Chris Hamilton and Jann Smith, Sandy; nieces, Vicky Jensen (Jim) Centerfield; Gayle Senger, Sandy; nephew, Stephen A. Gibson (Marilyn), Salt Lake; and Richard A. "Dick" Langon (Jean), Ventura, California; four grandsons, Jason, Jeremy, Skyler, and Spenser Smith; many great-nieces and nephews who knew her as Grandma Mimi. Preceded in death by a daughter, Holly, and sisters, Lucille Treseder Langdon and Janet Treseder Gibson. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 29, 1997, Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. Delbert Stapley

Board of Trustees, 1951 to 1975. Delbert L. Stapley was born December 11, 1896 at Mesa, Arizona. He was married to the former Ethel Davis by whom he fathered three children. He fulfilled a mission in the Southern States, 1915-1917, and was a U.S. Marine during World War I. He served as president of the Phoenix Stake. Before entering the stake presidency he was superintendent of the Stake MIA, high councilor in the Maricopa Stake and counselor in the Phoenix Stake Presidency. Before being called to serve as a member of the Council of the Twelve in 1950, he was a prominent business, civic and church leader. Elder Stapley was president of a hardware and implement firm in Arizona. He is also past president of the Lions Club of Phoenix, Arizona, and of the Phoenix Better Business Bureau, and a former member of the Mesa City Council. He served as president of the Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts of America and was member of the National Advisory Board Committee. He was sustained to the Council of the Twelve and ordained an Apostle October 5, 1950 at the age of fifty-three by President George Albert Smith. He served in the Twelve until his death August 19, 1978 at Salt Lake City.
