Jaque Lloyd Meiling was born on September 5, 1937 in Provo, Utah. His parents are John Carlos Meiling and [Clista Pritchett Meiling, 1902--; and Bessie Iverson Meiling, 1929-1987]. He died on April 15, 1986. Interment, Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Jaque Lloyd Meiling, 48, a former resident of Provo, Utah, died on April 15, 1986 at Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Virginia. He was born September 5, 1937 in Provo to John C. and Bessie Iverson Meiling. He married Sandy Sorensen in 1962 and they were later divorced. He married Sheila Wennerstrom October 4, 1969 in Seekonk, Massachusetts. He graduated from BY High School in 1956, attended Brigham Young University and the University of Rhode Island, and received a master's degree in Human Resource Management from Pepperdine University. He retired from the United States Navy in 1979 as a Lieutenant Commander. While in the Navy he served two tours in Vietnam on search and rescue duty as a helicopter pilot, and was awarded the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and nine other medals. At the time of his death he worked in Washington, D.C. for Quest Research and taught management courses at the University of Virginia. His survivors include his wife of Woodinville, Virginia, one son, four daughters: Neal, Nichole, Brigitte and Stacy, all of Woodinville. Mrs. Robert (Deni) Harbin, Gurnee, Illinois, his mother, Mrs. J. C. (Bessie) Meiling, Salt Lake City, Utah, and one grandson. Funeral services were held at Ft. Myer, Virginia. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia. @1986

Her parents were David Meldrum, Sr., and Deseret Elizabeth Hooks [probably not Hoops or Hoopes]. She married Thomas Christian Simonsen on November 4, 1914 in Manti, Sanpete County, Utah. Edith Deseret Meldrum Simonsen died on March 6, 1966 {in Los Angeles County, California [Sherman Oaks or Van Nuys], or Monroe, Utah}. Interment, Monroe City Cemetery, Utah.

His parents were Joseph Meldrum and Sonoma Richmond Meldrum. He married Margaret Alene Tuttle on June 11, 1929 in Utah County, Utah. She was born December 27, 1901 in Spanish Fork, Utah. Her parents were Hubbart Tuttle, Jr. and Elizabeth Chisholm Tuttle.

Timothy was born on July 16, 1889 in Lockport, Illinois. He died on October 13, 1941. Gana Beatrice Mellor Maher died on January 30, 1985 in Seattle, Washington.

Keith Melville and Ruth Weller Melville. She married Terry J. Foster in 1974. She was born and raised in Provo. She graduated from Brigham Young High School in the Class of 1967, where she was the BYU High Pep Club President in 1967. She attended BYU and was secretary for two departments. She enjoyed creating crafts. She was a vocal instructor for six years and has sung throughout Idaho, Utah, and California. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in the Primary, Young Women, and the Relief Society. The greatest achievement of her life was that of motherhood. Survivors include her husband and her six children: Ben, Carin, Bethany, Marc, Angie, and Heidi, all of Orem, her parents of Provo, eight brothers and sisters: Mrs. Steven (Mary) Moake, Mrs. Reed (Beck) Miller, James Melville, Mrs. David (Joan) Washburn, all of Orem, John Melville of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Nathan (Janet) Hatch of Lehi, Richard Melville and Mathew Melville, both of Provo. Joseph Jensen was born on December 5, 1867 in St. Charles, Bear Lake County, Idaho. Irena was a housewife. Irena Jensen died on June 11, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Faculty & Staff. Kay Mendenhall [male]. Business Teacher and head of the Business Department, 1967-68. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS OBITUARY: Spencer Kay "Kay" Mendenhall - 1935 ~ 2012. Spencer Kay Mendenhall of Springville, Utah passed away due to complications after surgery on March 24, 2012. He was 76 years old. He had been surrounded by and visiting with loving family members. Kay was born in Payson, Utah on September 12, 1935 to Spencer Malin and Cora Chambers Mendenhall. He grew up in Payson and lived life to the fullest. He played every sport under the sun and taught swimming lessons as a youth. He was an accomplished athlete as well as musician. Kay received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Brigham Young University where he played clarinet in the band and also wrestled. Kay loved the outdoors and spent summers during college working for the forest service both in Utah and Idaho. Kay was a devout member of the LDS Church. He served an LDS mission in the North-Western States Mission. He married Marda Lee Hartvigsen of Santaquin, Utah, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 19, 1960. Kay was a high school business teacher for many years, including at Brigham Young High School in 1967-1968, and he enjoyed working with and mentoring the youth. After retiring from teaching school he worked in the insurance industry. He treasured the relationships he had with his students, friends and insurance customers. Kay played his clarinet right up until the end. He most recently enjoyed playing with the Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra and during the summer with the Payson Summer Band Concerts. Kay loved watching and participating in sports. He stayed as active as he could be until physical limitations got in the way. He played basketball, tennis, skied, ran, wrestled, hiked and fished. He taught his kids, their friends and many others how to ski, play tennis, and swim. Summer days could always find him in the backyard with his kids and their friends with Kay spotting everyone in gymnastics stunts. He loved getting his grandkids in wrestling holds and testing their strength against his. Kay had an exuberant spirit about life and all who knew him will miss his presence. He had a way of making everyone smile and we all feel blessed for having had him in our lives. We know he is soaring free and climbing the highest mountain he can see and fishing in a clear, cool stream. Kay was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Keith. He is survived by his loving wife, Marda Lee Hartvigsen of Springville; his children: Jana Fronk of Springville. Michael (Robyn) Mendenhall of Salt Lake, Suzette (Scott) Sipple of South Jordan, Christy Mendenhall (Cameron Park) of Orem, Holly (Norven) Storrs of Springville; ten grandchildren which he thoroughly enjoyed: Brandy, Ryan, Kyle, Christian, Alec, Anna, Austin, Allison, Joshua and Lincoln; his sister Linda (Dave) Carter of Payson; brothers- & sisters-in-law Jessie Hartvigsen of Provo, Shirley (Bob) Peterson of West Valley, Sybil Hartvigsen of Dallas, Texas, Ace Hartvigsen of El Paso, Texas, Michelle Kiel of Washougal, Washington; his sweet Aunt Marsha Wilde of Provo, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Springville 2nd Ward Chapel, 1785 East 400 South in Springville. Wheeler Mortuary in Springville handled the arrangements.
