Class of 1953. Geraldine "Gerrie" Hintze. Chorus, Fauvines, Library Club, Notre Maison, Short Plays, Childrens Theater, Thespians. BYU BS Elementary Education 1957. Married Rey Hatch. Her parents: Harold S. Hintze and Grace Anderson Hintze, married September 10, 1935, in Salt Lake City. They had three sons and three daughters: Harold A. Hintze, Kamas, Utah; Richard A. Hintze (BYH Class of 1960) and Raymond A. Hintze, both Salt Lake City, Utah; Geraldine Hintze Hatch (BYH Class of 1953), El Paso, Texas; Deanne Hintze Madsen, Provo, Utah; and Claudia Hintze Hyde, Oak City, Utah [1990]. ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Geraldine Hintze Hatch. El Paso - Geraldine Hintze Hatch: 24 August 1935 ~ December 17, 2020. Gerrie left this world for her heavenly home the afternoon of December 17, 2020 after a valiant 15-day fight with COVID. We would like to say she was surrounded by her loved ones- but that was only in spirit due to restrictions from our current pandemic. Gerrie was born in Salt Lake City and grew up as the oldest child among 2 sisters and 3 brothers. The family moved to Provo when she was 8 and it was there she attended Brigham Young High, graduating in the Class of 1953. She then attended Brigham Young University where she obtained her degree in early childhood education. She taught kindergarten for a few years before being set up on a blind date with Rey Hatch. Six weeks later they would be engaged and married on June 5, 1959 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Rey's job would take them to El Paso, Texas - where their 1st daughter Karen was born; Crystal City, Texas - where 2nd daughter Tamara was born; to Laredo, Texas where 3rd daughter Geralyn was born; and 4th and 5th daughters Alene and Alysa were also born; to Mexico City, Mexico where 6th daughter Giselle was born; a few years were spent in Puerto Rico and then on to Tucson, Arizona where their first and only son Rey was born. Once Rey retired, they returned to El Paso Texas where they both spent the rest of their years. Gerrie was very active in her church, and held many callings; she was also a temple ordnance worker - and served a mission as a senior in Washington DC from 2004-2005. Once she retired from teaching - she was always busy with some knitting or quilt making in her hands. She donated hundreds (if not thousands of blankets) to The Linus Project and other worthy charities that greatly enjoyed her handiwork. She sewed all her kids' clothes while they were growing up- a hobby she loved; she baked tirelessly and decorated cakes; she made bread and many other baked goods, which everyone enjoyed. She loved going back once or twice a year to be re-united with her siblings and Utah roots. She leaves behind siblings - Deanne Madsen, Raymond and Richard, and Claudia Teeples - and previously deceased brother Harold. Her children Karen Herweg (Larry); Tamara Groat (Michael); Geralyn Rash (Paul); Alene Cardoza (Gabriel); Alysa Fisher (Jeff); Giselle Long (Steve) and Rey L. Hatch, Jr.. 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. They were not ready to say goodbye- she will be greatly missed. Services will be private due to COVID - a memorial service will be held at a later date this summer. Source.

He was born March 14, 1951 to Lehi Ferdinand Hintze and Ione Nelson Hintze in Brigham City, Utah. He was a member of the Brigham Young High School Class of 1969. A skilled athlete and fierce competitor, Wayne was named the Most Valuable Player in the All-Church Basketball Tournament in 1970. From 1970-1972 he served in Osaka, Japan as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and developed a lifelong love for the Japanese culture and people; he learned the language in both word and script. Wayne earned his BS in Chemistry and his PhD in Organizational Psychology at BYU. He worked as a marketing research consultant for many years. He loved numbers and statistics. Wayne was married to Catharine DeLong from 1975 to 2002, and together they raised four children in Provo, Utah and Alpharetta, Georgia. His passionate and competitive spirit carried over to card or board games with family and friends when he would loudly encourage himself to success. He played the piano and organ beautifully and lived a life continuously filled with music. He loved to play Chopin nocturnes on the piano and he had a beautiful tenor singing voice. Wayne had a great penchant for sweets and was famous for his mean chocolate cake. He collected rocks everywhere his travels took him, and frequently carried a lucky rock in his pocket. A few years after returning home from the middle east Wayne married Kristin Tuttle at the end of 2017. She resides in Salt Lake City. @2006 ~ ~ ~ ~ HER OBITUARY: Elaine Holbrook Haymore. August 11, 1920 ~ April 22, 2015, at age 94. Alsina Elaine Holbrook Haymore passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 22, 2015. She was born in Provo, Utah on August 11, 1920 to Alsina Elizabeth Brimhall and Lafayette Hinckley Holbrook. Elaine was born the youngest of 11 children in Provo, Utah where she was much loved by her parents and eight doting sisters and two brothers. Known as “Tiddlywinks” by her dad and one of the “three little kids”, she had fond memories of attending Brigham Young High School, Class of 1938, while living in the clinker brick house, and was taught to cherish her pioneer ancestry and LDS Church membership. After a semester at Brigham Young University she married John Arnold Haymore and moved several times before they finally settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. She lived at her present address for 65 years. The center of Elaine’s life has always been her children. Each of her seven sons and six daughters has been a blessed event for her, a fulfilling of her purpose on earth. And to them, she gave her full time and devotion. During the four years in California Valerie was born during World War II. Desiring to be in a safer environment, the family moved to Salt Lake City where all other children were born, spanning 22 years of her life. All sons experienced opportunities for work both in construction and paper routes. All daughters learned homemaking and secretarial skills. Education was strongly promoted in this family and all of the children either graduated or attended some years of university by having part-time jobs and scholarships, married in the temple, and all sons served missions for the LDS Church. After her divorce, Elaine worked as a secretary at various offices including many years at the LDS Church office building, to support the children remaining at home. Elaine’s church callings included teacher and temple ordinance worker. She will be remembered as the one who handed out programs at church during her final years, enduring well to the end. Even though she was limited in hearing she managed to comprehend what was said at church, often reading lips and body language to do so. With a ready smile and encouraging pat on the arm, she greeted everyone even to a few hours before her quiet passing. Always conveying her interest in those around her, she wanted little of possessions, but cherished relationships. She did so love lilacs and walks, and photos of grandchildren, and holding hands and chocolates. Her legacy to her numerous posterity will be one of faith in Jesus Christ, be forgiving, listen to the Holy Ghost, and remember your baptismal covenants to help others on their way. What a gift this mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister was. We let her go reluctantly but joyfully look forward to a reunion someday. Elaine is survived by her children, Valerie Jueschke (Bill), Daniel Haymore (Sondra), Gloria Pehrson (David), John Haymore (Bonnie), Douglas Haymore (Tricia), Sylvia Hunter (Ron), Bruce Haymore (Michele), Rosalee Sotomayor (Larry), Joseph Haymore, David Haymore (Barbara), Carolee Cannon, Cyndi Cross (Greg), Mark Haymore. She is further blessed by 67 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by four grandsons, Shawn Birtcher, Michael Haymore, J. David Mitchell, and Nathan Haymore. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Valley View 6th Ward, 2000 East 3900 South. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
