B.Y.H.S. Historians Association
The following is a list of elected B.Y.H.S. Student Body Historians. The office of Student Body Historian was created in 1953, and continued through 1968. Many others may qualify for membership in this Association, including yearbook and newspaper editors, and anyone who has collected memorabilia, including yearbooks, newspapers, programs, scrapbooks, and boxes of historic items. Everyone with a story or article, photograph or drawing, or with anything else to add, is invited to be a member of this Association. We invite your help in preserving the history of BY High School.

Ten Projects Ready for Adoption
- Project One BYH Yearbooks - The most accessible source of BY High history is the yearbook collection in the BYU Archives. The first project is to inventory the yearbooks to see which ones are missing (so we can advertise on the website to get missing volumes donated), and to determine how far back they go.
- Project Two School Newspapers - The second major source of BY High history is collections of school newspapers. We need to visit the BYU archives to determine how many newspapers they have, and which ones need to be searched for among BY High alumni, and former faculty and staff.
- Project Three Scrapbooks - It is believed that many of the secretaries and historians kept scrapbooks that are useful sources of BY High history. Are these scrapbooks in the BYU Archives, or are they still in the hands of the alumni who compiled them?
- Project Four Master List of Alumni - Yearbooks have yielded senior class lists for Classes from 1949 to 1971 (sic). An excellent project would be to copy pages out of all available yearbooks prior to 1949, then enter the information to this website.
- Project Five Master List of Faculty & Staff - Yearbooks once again are the most accessible source for compiling lists of faculty and staff, when they first appeared, and when they no longer appeared. This information will then be entered on this website.
- Project Six Master List of Administrators - We know that Karl G. Maeser was the second Principal of BY Academy (BY High), and we need to compile a master list of principals, assistant principals, etc., over the years. The best source: BY High yearbooks in the BYU Archives.
- Project Seven Interesting BY High Alumni - The internet and the BYU Library are two great sources of information about fascinating alumni. Researchers should remember that lists of early famous BYU alumni are usually identical to lists of high achieving BY High graduates. This information can be added to the alumni data base, or can be formatted onto separate pages within this website, connected by links from the alumni database.
- Project Eight Decades of BY High History - This website has set aside pages to review the history of BYH in increments of approximate one decade - Yearbook and newspaper research can provide insights and photographs to illustrate these articles.
- Project Nine Most Memorable Character & First Person Accounts - This website will publish interesting essays and first person accounts submitted by alumni and former faculty and staff.
- Project Ten Free Form - You tell us how we can incorporate your historical ideas to make this website more interesting. Your only limit is your imagination.
